06.30.08 Question of the Day

What's the one show missing from this year's HCTF lineup (genre, artist, local company) that you wish was on the bill?

Kimberly Johnson-Nagle's "Willy and Me'' which had to withdraw, unfortunately. I was looking forward to hearing what problems Mr. Shakespeare encountered in his sudden visit to modern America, the people he met and how it all turned out.

I believe the festival has a great line-up this year, but there are several companies from around the Acadiana area that have not yet participated in the festival. I sincerely hope that more local groups will take the opportunity to play with us in the upcoming years.

Looks like we might be missing a musical event. And I'd like to see some selections from other area theatres. We all need to support each other.

Psst, Jody! Nick & I are presenting a musical on Saturday, 6pm-7pm. As for what I'd like to see, John Patrick Bray's piece was fun to watch last year; I would have liked to see another one of his this year, too.

Dennis Ward's "Chez Gizele"! Omg... what a fantastic script! Dennis wrote it to honor Gisele, the owner/operator/den mother of Lafayette's first gay bar. The cast of characters, all drawn exclusively from the reality of the day, was mind-bending, hilarious, beautifully rendered and brilliantly entertaining. This show should be produced!
